A 58-year-old Kingaroy man charged with rape and grievous bodily harm was refused bail when he appeared in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on Monday.<\/p>\n

Police will allege a 28-year-old woman was attacked by the man on Friday evening after she allegedly went to his house to buy drugs.<\/p>\n

The court was told the man allegedly raped the woman anally by inserting some sort of sharp implement into her body.<\/p>\n

After allegedly being held for several hours, the woman managed to escape and was later found bleeding in the front garden of a house in First Avenue.<\/p>\n

She was taken to Kingaroy Hospital and later airlifted to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for further treatment.<\/p>\n

The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with rape, deprivation of liberty, grievous bodily harm and four drug-related charges, including production.<\/p>\n

Magistrate Andrew Sinclair refused bail, citing an unacceptable risk to the community.<\/p>\n

The man was remanded in custody to reappear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on August 16.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
