May 31, 2021<\/strong><\/p>\n

A man, aged in his 60s, was airlifted to hospital after his motorcycle and a vehicle collided on the Burnett Highway just outside Goomeri on Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n

Emergency services were called to the incident at 12:31pm.<\/p>\n

A decision was made to call in a rescue helicopter to assist the man.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Land Rover LifeFlight Special Mission helicopter – temporarily based on the Sunshine Coast – answered the call.<\/p>\n

The pilot was able to land the helicopter on the highway a short distance from the crash site.<\/p>\n

The aeromedical team worked with ambulance paramedics to treat the patient for lower limb injuries.<\/p>\n

The injured man was then airlifted to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital under the care of the LifeFlight critical care doctor and a QAS flight paramedic.<\/p>\n

He was transported in a stable condition.<\/p>\n
