Toowoomba Mayor Paul Antonio has encouraged residents to get a COVID vaccination to help protect the safety of the community.<\/p>\n

Mayor Antonio received his first vaccination on Friday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI understand there is some fear out there about the vaccination, but in this uncertain time it\u2019s important we listen to the advice of our health experts,\u201d Mayor Antonio said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have been incredibly lucky here in the Toowoomba Region that we have been less affected by this deadly virus, however it\u2019s vital we don\u2019t become complacent.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe best way we can do this is by getting the vaccine.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis week alone we have seen how the situation can worsen in other parts of Australia.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As a leader in this community, I want to make sure we\u2019re doing everything we can to avoid situations like the one we\u2019re witnessing in Victoria.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe way our community has responded for the past year or so has been amazing. Let\u2019s now take the next step by ensuring we\u2019re all vaccinated.<\/p>\n

\u201cTalk to your doctor and medical experts about the best way to access the vaccination.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s also important that we continue following the advice from Queensland Health. Our health professionals have been tremendous during this ordeal and I cannot thank them enough for everything they\u2019ve done.<\/p>\n

\u201cFinally, please remember that if you\u2019re sick, stay home and arrange a COVID-19 test.\u201d<\/p>\n
