South Burnett Saints were on the attack in the third quarter of their home game<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

May 26, 2021<\/strong><\/p>\n

Victory slipped away for the South Burnett Saints in the last quarter of a keenly contested game against the South Toowoomba Bombers on Saturday in Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

Fans gathered at Lyle Vidler Oval for the Saints’ second home game of the 2021 Darling Downs competition.<\/p>\n

They were rewarded with a strong display by the home team.<\/p>\n

At the end of the first quarter, the Saints were just three points behind; and at the third change they were even closer.<\/p>\n

But the Bombers took off in the last quarter, kicking five goals to secure a 10.9-69 to 4.12-36 win.<\/p>\n

Saints’ goals were kicked by Daniel Ryan (2), Joshua Freeman and Rory Wilson.<\/p>\n

In the women’s game, played earlier, South Toowoomba were too strong, 12.21-93 to 0.1-1.<\/p>\n

Next Saturday, the Saints will hit the road again, with both the men’s and women’s team taking on the Goondiwindi Hawks at Riddles Oval in Goondiwindi.<\/p>\n
