South Burnett mayor Brett Otto says he has lobbied in Brisbane to keep local issues “top of mind”.<\/p>\n

The mayor visited State Parliament House on Tuesday, meeting with Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington.<\/p>\n

“It is very much part of my agenda to constantly keep the elected State and Federal politicians informed of our local issues and to make sure we get our fair share of attention,” Mayor Otto said.<\/p>\n

“When we are located in safe seats, we can sometimes fall into the shadows and I do not want that happening on my watch.<\/p>\n

“Whilst Deb is no longer Opposition Leader, she is our local MP. It is vital we work together for great outcomes.<\/p>\n

“I raised the water issue for Kingaroy with Deb and have asked that she raise it formally in Parliament so it is on the Hansard record.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Water is one of my priorities and I will be like a dog with a bone on critical water issues.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mayor Otto said water quality and supply was “a threat to the community, both from a health point of view and an economic one”.<\/p>\n

“It is time for action now and the State and Federal Government need to put their differences aside and come to the party on water infrastructure for this area,” he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
