Detectives from Murgon CIB arrested and charged a 57-year-old Tingoora woman on Tuesday in relation to the alleged unlawful stalking of a current serving councillor of the South Burnett Regional Council.<\/p>\n

A Queensland police spokesperson said it would\u00a0be alleged the woman engaged in persistent targeted abuse, harassment, and intimidation of the Councillor for an extended period between March 2020 and May 2021.<\/p>\n

Detectives have charged the 57-year-old woman with extortion offences and will allege she attempted to obtain money and other benefits from the Councillor during this period.<\/p>\n

She was refused police bail and remanded in custody to appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
