Two sisters – who aren’t really sisters – and a bunch of their close friends have taken over Wondai Art Gallery for this month’s exhibition.<\/p>\n

“More Than Sisters” features works by Tania Corbet and Raylee Koch (the original Two Sisters) plus Selena Stevens, Elisha Wolter, Fiona Elliott, Wendy Corstiaans and Trish Erkens.<\/p>\n

The group’s works fill the walls with more artworks – paintings and photographs – than have been seen at the gallery for some time (if ever …).<\/p>\n

Gallery volunteer Gil Smith explained the concept behind the exhibition.<\/p>\n

“Two Sisters Art was started in 2010 by Tania Corbet and her ‘sister by choice’ Raylee Koch as a small online store,” Gil said.<\/p>\n

“After several years, Raylee branched out into photography, and Tania became the driving force behind Two Sisters Art, which is now a lovely art studio at Crawford.<\/p>\n

“The studio includes a shop front, supplying the region with a large range of art supplies, as well as providing many opportunities for like-minded people to meet up and take classes covering many different art styles and mediums.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Gil said current classes included mixed media, drawing, scrapbooking, watercolour and alcohol ink “as well as the long-running and popular ‘Cocktails and Canvas’ and ‘Cupcakes and Canvas’.”<\/p>\n

Tania thanked the Wondai Art Gallery for the opportunity to showcase works by Two Sisters’ teachers.<\/p>\n

“I started scrapbooking on the kitchen table about 10 years ago,” she said. “Over the years, the business has evolved with our lives.”<\/p>\n

The “More Than Sisters” exhibition will be open at the Wondai Art Gallery until the end of the month.<\/p>\n

Entry is free.<\/p>\n
