Queensland Health has urged Queenslanders to reconsider travel to Victoria after a man in his 30s recently tested positive to COVID-19.<\/p>\n

The man tested positive after completing 14 days quarantine in a South Australian hotel.<\/p>\n

“If you have been to an exposure site and are already in Queensland, or will enter Queensland prior to 1:00am on Thursday (May 13), you must call 134-COVID (13-42-68) and immediately travel by private transport home or to accommodation and quarantine for 14 days since you attended the venue,” a Queensland Health spokesperson said.<\/p>\n

“Anyone arriving in Queensland after 1:00am on Thursday (May 13) who has been to a Victorian exposure site during the risk period identified is required to undertake mandatory hotel quarantine for 14 days. This is in accordance with the Interstate Exposure Venues Direction.<\/p>\n

“If you have recently returned from Victoria or South Australia and not visited any listed exposure venues during the risk period, get tested if you have any COVID-19 symptoms, no matter how mild, and isolate until you get the results and your symptoms resolve.<\/p>\n

“We are asking all Queenslanders to continue to monitor the list of interstate exposure venues for 14 days after you arrive to ensure no new venues have been added.<\/p>\n

“We are also asking all Queenslanders to reconsider travel to Victoria.”<\/p>\n
