Keen motorbike riders – all fans of the Austrian KTM marque – roared into the South Burnett last week as part of a six-day “Adventure Rallye”.<\/p>\n

The 135 riders, plus 35 support staff, began their adventure in Kenilworth on May 1, overnighting at various towns until rolling into Murgon for lunch on Friday and spending the night at the Bunya Mountains.<\/p>\n

The 2000km ride attracted KTM owners from all over Australia – except Western Australia!<\/p>\n

KTM Australia marketing manager Rosie Lalonde said the riders travelled at their own pace along the route, meeting up for meals along the way and a group dinner at night.<\/p>\n

“The regional communities that we travelled through were so friendly. It was really awesome,” Rosie said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is the first time KTM have held an Adventure Rallye in Queensland, and the fifth Rallye held in Australia.<\/p>\n

All the riders must own specific KTM Adventure models.<\/p>\n

KTM subsidises the ride but the riders pay to take part and pick up their own costs, including lunches, fuel and accommodation.<\/p>\n

“The Rallye injects a nice little amount into the communities along the way,” Rosie said.<\/p>\n
