May 7, 2021<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Burrandowan Picnic Race Club will be holding its annual race meeting at the Burrandowan Racecourse, 66km west of Kingaroy on Saturday (May 8).<\/p>\n

Crowds have been gathering at Burrandowan on the second Saturday in May since 1922 to take in the atmosphere of a bush picnic race meeting.<\/p>\n

Last year was the exception, of course, with COVID-19 scuttling the traditional South Burnett event.<\/p>\n

The annual meeting generates funds for worthy causes and many food and drink outlets on the course are run by local service clubs to assist their own community projects.<\/p>\n

A bus will be running from Kingaroy at 10:30am and again at noon, and camping is available at the track for Saturday night (swags and tents only).<\/strong><\/p>\n

Racing begins at 1:35pm and there\u2019s a five-race card.<\/p>\n

After the last race is run at 4:35pm, the course’s pit-fired BBQs will light up and there’ll be live entertainment from Ryza that will run until late into the night.<\/p>\n

Patrons are reminded there are no ATMs and no mobile coverage at the track, so they should bring cash.<\/p>\n

Entry to this year’s meeting is $25 per head (plus booking fee) and tickets must be booked in advance online<\/b><\/a>. <\/p>\n
