Former professional cricketer and reality TV star Lee Carseldine will be the special guest speaker at the upcoming South Burnett Mayor\u2019s Community Charity Breakfast.<\/p>\n

The annual charity breakfast, which launches the South Burnett’s Relay For Life fundraising campaign, will be held on Friday, April 30, in the Tobruk Room at the Kingaroy RSL Club<\/p>\n

Lee played for the Queensland Bulls between 1998-2004 and 2007-2011, and later for the Rajasthan Royals.<\/p>\n

After retiring from first class cricket,\u00a0Lee was a commentator on ABC Grandstand and Fox Sports as well as starring in Season 3 of Australian Survivor in 2016.<\/p>\n

In 2020, he was part of\u00a0Australian Survivor: All Stars.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter retiring from my professional cricket career, it was time to push myself and find a new direction for my future,” Lee said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Following the completion of a double masters\u2019 degree, I launched two businesses and joined different projects to share my wealth of knowledge in business, sports and entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have also since dedicated myself to giving back, especially to the sporting community I have been so immersed in over my career.<\/p>\n

“I look forward to sharing my experiences at the Mayor\u2019s Community Charity Breakfast for Relay for Life in Kingaroy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mayor Brett Otto said it was wonderful to have the Mayors Community Charity Breakfast returning after last year\u2019s disruptions due to COVID-19.<\/p>\n

He said South Burnett’s Relay For Life\u00a0one of the most successful fundraisers in Queensland, “punching well above its weight” in raising funds for the Cancer Council Queensland.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis South Burnett fundraiser is led by Mr Carl Rackemann and his hard-working team of volunteers. (It) is such an important endeavour for our local community,\u201d Mayor Otto said.<\/p>\n

Tickets are $30 per person, which includes a hot breakfast, tea, coffee and juice.<\/strong><\/p>\n
