The lucky winner of the recent Kingaroy Rotary car raffle drove away in his new Mitsubishi Mirage on Saturday morning.<\/p>\n

Jeremy Smith, from the Gold Coast, was presented with his keys by Huston Motors’ Mark Huston, whose dealership donated the $19,500 vehicle for the raffle.<\/p>\n

The prize was one of the main fundraisers at the recent Rotary District 9600 Conference held in Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

Kingaroy Rotary Club president and conference secretary Kat Butcher said the results were still be assessed but she believed about $25,000-$26,000 had been raised at the conference.<\/p>\n

Funds raised from the car raffle – about $20,000 – will support youth suicide prevention in the South Burnett.<\/p>\n

Jeremy said he bought his ticket when he came up to Nanango in February to attend the local races.<\/p>\n

“I was here for a boys’ weekend for a friend’s birthday,” Jeremy told southburnett.com.au<\/strong><\/p>\n

“We were here for a couple of days on a mini-bus.<\/p>\n

“I bought the tickets at the races. It was a no-brainer to buy a ticket when I saw it was for youth suicide because I work in the disability sector.<\/p>\n

“I’d really like to thank Rotary – you guys do an awesome job – and the dealership.”<\/p>\n
