Proston couldn’t let Easter 2021 pass without some sort of local celebration at the weekend.<\/p>\n

Proston QCWA was forced to cancel the parade – and the weather didn’t look promising for the proposed fun day – but there were still Easter bonnets aplenty in Railway Park.<\/p>\n

Prizes were handed out in two rounds of junior hat competitions as well as in the adult category.<\/p>\n

The bonnet wearers even took part in a mini-hat parade.<\/p>\n

There were also prizes for the best decorated pushbike.<\/p>\n

The ladies from the QCWA were keen to promote their Country Kitchen activities, while out the back Mondure Rural Fire Brigade volunteers were eager to attract new volunteers to their ranks and raise bushfire awareness.<\/p>\n

Easter wasn’t forgotten in the main street, either, with colourful Easter rabbits, decorated by local families and community groups, strapped to awning poles in Blake Street.<\/p>\n
