Queenslanders should learn on Thursday morning whether the latest COVID-19 restrictions will be eased.<\/p>\n

Speaking at a media conference in Brisbane on Wednesday morning, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said it was “very encouraging” at the moment.<\/p>\n

“We will be providing you with an update tomorrow (Thursday) at 9:00am and, fingers crossed, all will be looking good for Easter,” the Premier said.<\/p>\n

“It depends on the testing rates again. If we see very good testing rates across Queensland and we don’t see any unlinked community transmission, the signs for Easter are looking positive.”<\/p>\n

Two new community-acquired cases of COVID-19 were reported on Wednesday, both linked to the second of the recent PA clusters.<\/strong><\/p>\n

One of these cases is another PA nurse; the second case is in the same household.<\/p>\n

The latest confirmed cases take the number of cases in the first PA cluster to eight; and in the second PA cluster to 11.<\/p>\n

The Premier said there were 71 active COVID cases in Queensland hospitals, but 58 of these had acquired the illness overseas.<\/p>\n

She confirmed there was one COVID case in Toowoomba Hospital and one in Bundaberg Hospital, both linked to the second cluster.<\/p>\n

The Premier said 33,408 COVID tests had been carried out over the past 24 hours, and 6809 people vaccinated.<\/p>\n

Almost 72,000 people have now been vaccinated in Queensland.<\/p>\n

There are more than 1000 people in quarantine across Queensland at the moment linked to the current clusters.<\/p>\n
