Long-serving Bunya Mountains Rural Fire Brigade Fire Warden Kelvin Quinn and his wife Libby will be leaving the mountains shortly for a new home in Narangba<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The Bunya Mountains Rural Fire Brigade held a farewell for their long-serving Fire Warden Kelvin Quinn and his wife Libby at the brigade’s fire shed last Sunday.<\/p>\n

Kelvin has been a member of the brigade for close to 24 years and was the group’s Fire Warden for almost 20 years.<\/p>\n

He also served as head ranger at the Bunya Mountains National Park over the past few decades.<\/p>\n

Recently Kelvin announced that following his retirement from the National Parks and Wildlife Service, he and his wife Libby will be moving from the Bunya Mountains to a new home at Narangba.<\/p>\n

Libby has also retired from her long-standing position at Quinalow State School, where the couple sent their children for their primary school education before they graduated to Dalby High School.<\/p>\n

Sunday’s farewell was attended by many Bunya Mountains residents as well as brigade members.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bunya Mountains Rural Fire Brigade captain John Learmont presented Kelvin with a certificate from the Burnett Area Office of the Rural Fire Service to recognise his long years of service to the area.<\/p>\n

Kelvin and Libby were also given a hand-crafted coffee table made of timber from a Bunya pine tree.<\/p>\n

The table was made by the brigade’s 5th officer Ian Harris, who has a spare time interest in woodcraft.<\/p>\n
