{"id":29631,"date":"2013-04-10T17:01:27","date_gmt":"2013-04-10T07:01:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/?p=29631"},"modified":"2013-04-10T23:03:21","modified_gmt":"2013-04-10T13:03:21","slug":"new-fund-for-flood-affected-events","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/2013\/04\/10\/new-fund-for-flood-affected-events\/","title":{"rendered":"New Fund For Flood-Affected Events"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_3736\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3736\" style=\"width: 200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/jannstuckey.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3736\" title=\"Jann Stuckey\" src=\"http:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/jannstuckey.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"407\" srcset=\"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/jannstuckey.jpg 200w, https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/jannstuckey-147x300.jpg 147w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3736\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Queensland Tourism Minister Jann Stuckey<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>April 10, 2013<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Queensland State Government announced today it has created a $150,000 fund so that flood-affected areas can reschedule events that had to be cancelled because of the 2013 floods.<\/p>\n<p>Tourism Minister Jann Stuckey launched the TEQ 2013 Events Flood Assistance Program (EFAP) while visiting Bundaberg today.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Newman Government recognises the importance of regional events in supporting Queensland&#8217;s tourism industry, local businesses and jobs,&#8221; Ms Stuckey said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The 2013 Events Flood Assistance Program will make available financial assistance to events that have suffered or been cancelled as a result of recent flooding.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have created a one-off, $150,000 fund so events can apply for support to help with specific expenses.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Events, particularly in smaller communities, are vital to the local economy and we want to make sure they can go ahead as planned, or are re-staged.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The EFAP is available for events held between 1 June 2013 and 29 September 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Events must be held in a council area declared as flood affected by the Natural Disaster Relief Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA) since January 2013.
