Murgon<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>March 22, 2021<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Murgon Diggers finished on top of the South Burnett ladder after a strong season but were pipped at the post by Nanango Scorpions in a tight Grand Final game played at Wondai Cricket Ground on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Rain which had been hanging around all morning stopped just in time for the game to start on schedule but later returned, cutting the planned 40-over match back to 32.<\/p>\n<p>Murgon won the toss and sent Nanango in to bat.<\/p>\n<p>Murgon&#8217;s Jamian Currin (5\/22) cut through Nanango&#8217;s early order until Michael Marriott came to the crease at number six.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Marriott cut loose, hitting 79 runs &#8211; including five fours and five sixes &#8211; off just 46 balls before he was finally bowled by Renee Irvine (2\/14).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nanango were all out for 154 in the 32nd over.<\/p>\n<p>Dan O&#8217;Connor (16) and Reg Wenham (14) added valuable runs to the Scorpions&#8217; total.<\/p>\n<p>In reply, Murgon were bowled out by Nanango in the 28th over for 132.<\/p>\n<p>Andy Roderick (46) and\u00a0Nathan Roderick (28) were Murgon&#8217;s top scorers.<\/p>\n<p>Angus O&#8217;Brien (2\/10 off two overs) and\u00a0Stephen Kirkland (2\/23 off five overs) were the best of the Nanango bowlers.<\/p>\n<p>Nanango won by 22 runs.<\/p>\n<figure
