The annual Proston Show was one of the few local shows to go ahead in 2020 and organisers weren’t going to allow COVID-19 rules and regulations to stop it going ahead in 2021.<\/p>\n

There were some obvious things missing – no grand parade in the main ring, no equestrian competitions, no luncheon pavilion – but there was still lots to keep showgoers interested.<\/p>\n

There was plenty of action in the cattleyards with 150 head entered in the competitions.<\/p>\n

Everyone seemed keen to get in some practise ahead of Beef 2021 in Rockhampton in May.<\/p>\n

At the other end of the showgrounds a huge dog show had competitors from across south-east Queensland grooming and parading their charges.<\/strong><\/p>\n

There was also a whipcracking display by\u00a0Walter Whip and The Flames and a trio of food vans was kept busy.<\/p>\n

The 2021 show was officially opened by poultry steward\u00a0Les Robinson who has been volunteering at the show for decades.<\/p>\n

Les also helped with the huge 30-prize multi-draw raffle.<\/p>\n

Proston Show Society president Viv White said she hoped this could become an annual event as it had been well-supported with prizes by sponsors.<\/p>\n
