March 15, 2021<\/strong><\/p>\n

St Mary’s Catholic College hosted a special International Women’s Day breakfast at the Maryknoll Centre in Kingaroy last Monday.<\/p>\n

The inaugural event celebrated women using the 2021 IWD theme, #ChooseToChallenge.<\/p>\n

Head of Primary Pam Radcliffe was the guest speaker and offered a personal and reflective response to the\u00a0#ChooseToChallenge theme.<\/p>\n

Ms Radcliffe challenged those present to be agents of change.<\/p>\n

She said it was an honour to care for her frail\u00a089-year-old\u00a0mother who taught Pam the\u00a0lifelong\u00a0values of courage,\u00a0fortitude,\u00a0and gratitude.<\/p>\n

Pam\u2019s story of\u00a0being\u00a0daughter, wife, mother, student,\u00a0professional,\u00a0career woman\u00a0and now grandmother brought people to tears.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The audience journeyed with Pam through her words of wisdom and many heart-wrenching\u00a0experiences.<\/p>\n

College captain Caitlyn Carney also spoke, saying she had been challenged\u00a0by stepping into the\u00a0arena\u00a0of leadership and explaining how this was enabling her to grow as a young woman.<\/p>\n

The morning was attended by\u00a0parents, grandparents, friends, aunties,\u00a0sons and daughters.<\/p>\n

It was such a success that the College is already planning to hold another morning next year on March 8.<\/p>\n
