Book lovers beware! There’ll be more than 10,000 books available for you to buy at the 12th annual Bookarama which will be happening in Kingaroy later this month.<\/p>\n

This will be the first time St John\u2019s Lutheran School’s P&F Association has run the popular event after it was cancelled in 2020 due to COVID-19 restrictions.<\/p>\n

Bookarama will be held at the Kingaroy Town Hall on March 20-21 and organisers are thrilled it can go ahead.<\/p>\n

P&F president Jacqui Trace said despite last year\u2019s cancellation, donations continued to be\u00a0received so book lovers can look forward to an even bigger selection of books than usual.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur volunteer committee of parents have had lots of laughs as we\u2019ve sorted and organised\u00a0the thousands of books donated during the past 18 months,\u201d Mrs Trace said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs well as some popular and highly sort after reads, there are also plenty of unique and\u00a0unusual offerings.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can just about guarantee, there\u2019ll be something for everyone!\u201d<\/p>\n

The event will run from 8:00am until 4:00pm on the Saturday (March 20) and from 8:00am to noon on the Sunday (March 21).<\/strong><\/p>\n

A sausage sizzle will also run all weekend.<\/p>\n

Books will range in price from $1 to $4. Children\u2019s\u00a0books will be on sale for 50c each or 10 for $3.<\/p>\n

Mrs Trace said in addition to all the secondhand books for sale, local author Chrys McDuffie\u00a0would be attending the event.<\/p>\n

\u201cChrys is the grandmother of a number of students at our school and we\u2019re excited she\u2019ll be\u00a0at Bookarama to promote her new children\u2019s book called ‘Daddy\u2019s Little Hero’. It\u2019s all about
\nthe important job volunteer fire fighters perform,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Bookarama was previously co-ordinated by the Taabinga Rotary Club but at the end of 2019,\u00a0St John\u2019s Lutheran School P&F put up its hand to take over the reins and ensure the popular
\nKingaroy event could continue.<\/p>\n
