February 28, 2021<\/strong><\/p>\n

Two men were airlifted to hospital with burns on Sunday afternoon after a vehicle ran off the road and caught on fire on the D’Aguilar Highway at Harlin.<\/p>\n

The burning light truck sent plumes of black smoke into the area while firefighters fought to control the blaze.<\/p>\n

A small grass fire around the vehicle was quickly brought under control. <\/p>\n

The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was despatched to the scene about 3:30pm.<\/p>\n

The helicopter landed on the oval at the nearby Harlin State School.<\/p>\n

QAS paramedics assisted the injured men before they were transferred to the medevac helicopter.<\/p>\n

They were then flown in a stable condition to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital for further treatment.<\/p>\n

Traffic on the highway was blocked while emergency services were at the scene.<\/p>\n

Investigations into the cause of the incident are continuing.<\/p>\n
