and covers went on and off &#8211; but two junior cricket games from the Wide Bay Championships managed to squeeze in at Murgon Showgrounds last Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately for local fans, South Burnett fell just short in both the U12s and U14s against Gympie sides.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In Under 14s, Gympie won the toss and elected to bat first.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The 50-over game was reduced to 42 after delays due to the weather.<\/p>\n<p>Gympie were all out for 121 in the 41st over.<\/p>\n<p>Joshua Fearby (3\/5 off six overs, including one maiden), Zachary Harris (2\/5 off four overs) and Lochlan Burrows (2\/6 off five overs) finished with the best bowling figures for South Burnett.<\/p>\n<p>In reply, South Burnett were all out for 108 in the 42nd over.<\/p>\n<p>Top scorers were Joshua Fearby (26) and Lawson Black (14).<\/p>\n<p><strong>In Under 12s, Gympie won the toss again and batted first.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At the end of their 40 overs, Gympie was 213.<\/p>\n<p>James Searle finished with the best bowling figures for South Burnett, taking 3\/30 but\u00a0Hayden Donohue (3\/40) was also celebrating after taking a hat trick.<\/p>\n<p>In reply, South Burnett were all out for 117 in the 33rd over.<\/p>\n<p>Top scorers were\u00a0Joshua Williams (28) and\u00a0Douglas Hoare (17)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Round 3 of the competition will be played on February 28.<\/strong><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_294835\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-294835\" style=\"width: 740px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/20210214cricket2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-294835 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/20210214cricket2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"740\" height=\"460\" srcset=\"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/20210214cricket2.jpg 740w, https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/20210214cricket2-300x186.jpg 300w, https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/20210214cricket2-269x167.jpg 269w, https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/20210214cricket2-285x177.jpg 285w, https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/20210214cricket2-340x211.jpg 340w, https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/20210214cricket2-263x163.jpg 263w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 740px) 100vw, 740px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-294835\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Lawson Black took one wicket for South Burnett in Under 14s but also hit 14 very valuable runs<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #006699;\"><strong>T20 Challenge<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Southern Bulls (4\/85) defeated Northern Stars\u00a0 (all out 81) in their Under 17s T20 clash under lights last Friday night at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Bulls and Stars are now even with one win apiece in the three-game competition.<\/p>\n<p>Matthew Springate (29 not out) again was best with the bat for the Bulls, repeating his success from Round 1.<\/p>\n<p>Fletcher Brown was next best with 11.<\/p>\n<p>Jeremy Hobbs (1\/11) and Harrison Sippel (1\/14) were the pick of the Northern Stars&#8217;
