Queensland will be reinstating border passes for travellers from Victoria from Saturday (February 13).<\/p>\n

This follows more COVID-19 cases linked to a quarantine hotel being diagnosed and a growing list of venues in the Greater Melbourne area which have been visited by people who were possibly infectious at the time.<\/p>\n

Three more cases linked to the Holiday Inn near Melbourne Airport were announced on Thursday, taking the cluster to 11.<\/p>\n

\u201cI continue to remind anyone who has been to any of the listed venues in Greater Melbourne to come forward, get tested, follow the advice of Vic Health to quarantine for 14 days, and call 13-HEALTH,” Queensland Acting Chief Health Officer Dr Sonya Bennett said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnyone who has been in Greater Melbourne on or since February 5, but hasn\u2019t been to one of the venues, should come forward for testing and isolate until you receive a negative result.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have every confidence Vic Health are doing everything they can to contain this outbreak.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf the situation takes a turn for the worst, we may need to act, so I continue to ask Queenslanders to reconsider the need to travel to Victoria.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cIf you do decide to go, I recommend you have plans in place to get back to Queensland quickly.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd, of course, anyone in Queensland with any symptoms of COVID-19 \u2013 no matter how mild \u2013 should get tested and isolate until they receive a negative result.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dr Bennett said Queensland will continue to restrict visitors to vulnerable facilities.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cAs a precaution, restrictions will remain in place for anyone who has been in Greater Melbourne for our aged care facilities, hospitals, disability accommodation services and correction facilities,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Anyone in Queensland who has been to any of the listed venues in NSW should also come forward for testing, follow the NSW Health advice to quarantine for 14 days, and call 13-HEALTH.<\/p>\n
