A young woman was flown to hospital in a serious condition on Tuesday night after being trapped for more than two hours after a car hit a tree on the D’Aguilar Highway at Benarkin.<\/p>\n

Emergency services were called to the incident, near Syd Allery Drive, at 11:50pm.<\/p>\n

Firefighters used cutting equipment to remove the door and roof of the vehicle to free the woman, who was trapped by her lower limbs in the wreckage.<\/p>\n

Six fire crews attended the scene to work on the difficult extraction.<\/p>\n

The woman, aged in her 20s, was freed by 2:05am.<\/p>\n

She was transferred to a waiting rescue helicopter and flown to Royal Brisbane Hospital with significant lower leg injuries.<\/p>\n

A second person in the vehicle was transported by ambulance to Kingaroy Hospital in a stable condition with minor injuries.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
