Don’t be surprised if you see a lot more girls playing cricket after a two-day clinic held in Nanango last week.<\/p>\n

Two of the South Burnett’s best female cricketers led the training: international fast bowler Holly Ferling on Thursday and Brisbane Heat’s all-rounder Courtney Sippel on Friday.<\/p>\n

More than 30 girls aged from 5-14 took part in the training, held at the Nanango Sportsgrounds in Burnett Street.<\/p>\n

Nanango was chosen as the location because the Scorpions currently have a large number of female juniors in their ranks.<\/p>\n

The girls practised bowling, batting and fielding under the watchful eyes of Holly and Courtney plus Ryan Charles and Nick Roberts, from Queensland Cricket.<\/p>\n

They worked in the nets as well as playing mini-games on the main pitch.<\/p>\n

And there was also a rather messy, but colourful, finish to the event!<\/p>\n
