{"id":291246,"date":"2020-12-18T22:09:41","date_gmt":"2020-12-18T12:09:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/?p=291246"},"modified":"2020-12-18T22:10:30","modified_gmt":"2020-12-18T12:10:30","slug":"bushfire-recovery-grants-available","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/2020\/12\/18\/bushfire-recovery-grants-available\/","title":{"rendered":"Bushfire Recovery Grants Available"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_226673\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-226673\" style=\"width: 200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-226673\" src=\"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/littleproud2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"310\" srcset=\"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/littleproud2.jpg 200w, https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/littleproud2-194x300.jpg 194w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-226673\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Emergency Management Minister David Littleproud<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>December 18, 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Disaster recovery grants of up to $100,000 are now available for community groups, councils and non-government organisations in\u00a0the South Burnett, North Burnett, Toowoomba and Gympie regions.<\/p>\n<p>Emergency Management Minister David Littleproud said on Friday applications were now open for the Round 2 of Flexible Funding Grants, with a total of $4.2 million available\u00a0for 23 Queensland cities and regions affected by last year&#8217;s bushfires.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We know that communities impacted by bushfires in the spring and summer of 2019 are continuing to rebuild their lives and recover,&#8221; Minister Littleproud said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Flexible Funding Grants are available for programs and projects that will support local communities through their long-term recovery.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The program is being\u00a0jointly funded under Commonwealth\/State Disaster Recovery arrangements.<\/p>\n<p><strong>State Communities Minister Leeanne Enoch said the $4.2 million round followed on from Round 1, which provided $1.8 million to 37 projects across Queensland.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Some of the projects that received funding in the first round included a community disaster recovery hub and animal refuge at Mount Larcom, a community bushfire preparation project in Toowoomba and improvements to the Baffle Creek Community Centre,&#8221; Minister Enoch said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Small grants of between $2500 and $50,000 and larger grants of up to $100,000 are now available,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Grant applications close at 2:00pm on February 11.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Successful projects must be able to be delivered in line with COVID-19 safety measures.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>More information, including how to submit an application, is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.communities.qld.gov.au\/industry-partners\/funding-grants\/funding-available\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">online<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Disaster recovery grants of up to $100,000 are now available for community groups, councils and non-government organisations in\u00a0the South Burnett, North Burnett, Toowoomba and Gympie regions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":276803,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[3],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v19.11 -
