The South Burnett’s two most famous women cricketers – Holly Ferling and Courtney Sippel – are coming back home this week for a special two-day clinic to encourage more girls to follow in their footsteps.<\/p>\n

Holly has represented Australia – including taking nine wickets during the 2013 World Cup series in India – and was the first female to be named Queensland Junior Cricketer Of The Year.<\/p>\n

She has played for the Queensland Fire and Brisbane Heat and has turned out for the Melbourne Stars in the Women’s Big Bash League for the past few seasons.<\/p>\n

Courtney Sippel debuted as an all-rounder for the Brisbane Heat in the 2019 WBBL season, and was part of the squad which reached the semi-finals in this year’s competition.<\/p>\n

Ironically, Sippel and Ferling faced off against each other in two games earlier this year.<\/p>\n

Holly said this week she couldn’t wait to get back in the South Burnett with Courtney for the Queensland Cricket – Community and Pathways “That\u2019s My Game” program for girls aged from 5-14.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“If you are keen to give cricket a crack (or you know of someone), make sure you register …\u00a0it\u2019s going to be a heap of fun!” Holly said.<\/p>\n

The two-day carnival will be held at the Nanango cricket grounds in Burnett Street on Thursday and Friday (December 17-18).<\/p>\n

The cost is free but registrations are necessary.<\/p>\n
