It looks like a new parents group has been created at Cherbourg as the result of a successful Easter egg hunt.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, Lesley Bell and Dennis Broom held the event at the Ration Shed Museum and were joined by 19 other parents and heaps of kids.<\/p>\n

The children handed sandwiches around to adults and took part in an emu parade at the end of the event to leave the grounds sparkling clean.<\/p>\n

A conversation afterwards led parents to believe they could form a group that will continue to organise family events in the town.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll approach government agencies for a bit of guidance at the start but we want to organise the activities ourselves,\u201d Ms Bell said.<\/p>\n

Mr Broome said the group would allow parents to become more involved in their children\u2019s lives.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople keep saying we need to do something for our children but then sit back and wait for somebody else to do it for them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to take action, start small but hopefully gain enough community support to keep going without the help of anybody but those who live within Cherbourg.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s the way to create a happier future for all who live in the town.\u201d<\/p>\n
