Some of the most unlikely people will be going behind bars this week, “doing time” to stop youth crime and helping out the South Burnett PCYC.<\/p>\n

South Burnett Deputy Mayor Keith Campbell is among the detainees taking part in Time4Kids 2013<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

He has to raise at least $500 bail to get released from the PCYC jail … but he’s hoping he can raise even more.<\/p>\n

If he reaches his target, Keith will be released at 10:00am on Saturday at Kingaroy Shoppingworld, along with the other “prisoners” taking part in the fundraiser.<\/p>\n

He’s already received his summons and was taken in for questioning by Kingaroy police yesterday …<\/p>\n

“I would welcome any donations of cash to help towards the bail. As you know, a diet of bread and water is not my cup of tea,” Keith pleaded.<\/p>\n

The prisoners face at least a 30-minute sentence at Shoppingworld but the word on the street is they may get to stay inside even longer … if money is given to the right people (everything over $2 is tax deductible).<\/p>\n

Time4Kids is being held to coincide with National Youth Week.<\/p>\n

All money raised will go to the South Burnett PCYC to help them provide activities for local youth.<\/p>\n

Anyone who would like to assist the Deputy Mayor get back on the straight and narrow should give Keith a ring on 0439-708-553.<\/p>\n
