South Burnett CTC is justifiably proud of the Barambah Cricket Club<\/strong> …<\/p>\n

Not only was the team crowned B Grade Champions after a terrific 2011-12 season but the club has also been championing the fight for a safer community by taking a stand against domestic violence.<\/p>\n

Barambah Cricket Club was proudly sponsored by CTC’s Safe Haven Service and wore uniforms promoting the message: “Zero Tolerance Against Domestic Violence”.<\/p>\n

To demonstrate their commitment, each player also signed an agreement stating that they would not tolerate domestic violence and would model this within their community.<\/p>\n

The team had a season of success both on and off the field.<\/p>\n

A CTC spokesman said the team had influenced the community with their statement that domestic violence is not acceptable and helping people break the pattern of abuse.<\/p>\n

“By taking a leadership role in the community and through their cricket achievements the team are setting a positive example for others not only condemning domestic violence, but violence in general,” CTC said.<\/p>\n

“They must be congratulated on their continued efforts and cricket achievements. Together they have vowed to continue promoting their strong message against violence in the community.<\/p>\n

“You, too, can play an important role in helping to stop domestic violence. It is not an issue just for the victims or perpetrators, domestic violence is everyone\u2019s concern. CTC encourages everyone to speak out against domestic violence.”<\/p>\n
