The founder of Clovely Estate – the South Burnett’s largest vineyard and winery – has been presented with a special award to recognise his significant contribution to the Queensland wine industry.<\/p>\n

Brett Heading was presented with the 2020 Samuel Bassett Award at the recent launch of the “Vine and Shine Trail<\/a><\/strong>” at Redland.<\/p>\n

Clovely Estate was established in 1997, one of the first vineyards in the then-new South Burnett wine region.<\/p>\n

In 2007, Clovely Estate opened a City Cellar Door at Red Hill in Brisbane, effectively linking South Burnett wines to the city market.<\/p>\n

Mr Heading comes from a pioneering Murgon family which has been farming in the region for more than a century.<\/strong><\/p>\n

During his acceptance speech he thanked his partner Susan Mercer, Clovely general manager Aaron Stephan, winemaker Nick Pesudovs, executive chef Mike Kirwin and brand consultant Nicki Lloyd as well as the rest of the Clovely team in Brisbane and the South Burnett.<\/p>\n

The Vine and Shine Trail is a marketing exercise by\u00a0the Queensland Wine Industry Association designed to entice self-drive tourists to explore Queensland’s various wine regions.<\/p>\n

The trail winds its way through the Granite Belt to the Scenic Rim \/ Gold Coast Hinterland; South Burnett; Wide Bay-Burnett; Brisbane \/ Greater Brisbane \/ Sunshine Coast; and Darling Downs \/ Western Queensland.<\/p>\n
