South Burnett Mayor Wayne Kratzmann will officially launch a new “Mayor’s Charity Trust” at the Mayoral Charity Gala Ball which will be held at Kingaroy Town Hall on June 1.<\/p>\n

Mayor Kratzmann told southburnett.com.au<\/strong> this morning that funds raised from the ball will be used to kickstart the new Trust.<\/p>\n

He said “four or five” people from across the South Burnett who are held in high esteem would be appointed to determine what projects would be supported by the ongoing Trust.<\/p>\n

“The Trust will be there to support worthwhile projects – not events – that need a hand to get over the line,” Cr Kratzmann said.<\/p>\n

The Trust’s funds would be topped up in future by periodic public events such as the Charity Gala Ball, Mayoral breakfasts and similar activities.<\/p>\n

Grants from the Trust would be primarily targetted at South Burnett projects.<\/p>\n

NB.<\/strong> Tickets to the Charity Gala Ball, which features jazz star James Morrison, are now sold out.<\/p>\n
