A former funeral parlour in Alford Street, Kingaroy – which became a Salvation Army chapel for eight years – has been resurrected … as a funeral home.<\/p>\n

Killick Family Funerals has shifted into 44 Alford Street, Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

Director Jason Killick said his business was moving as it had outgrown its existing premises in Youngman Street.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He said the new funeral home would also allow Killick Family Funerals to livestream services using the latest technology.<\/p>\n

“Live streaming allows the bereaved to be at a funeral service from anywhere in the world as a virtual guest,” Jason said.<\/p>\n

“We are so pleased to be able to offer families a virtual one-stop-shop where funerals can be held followed by the refreshments in a purposely dedicated room.”<\/p>\n

The modern-style building,\u00a0next door to KFC, was originally constructed for Virgo Funerals but in 2012 became the offices and chapel for the local Salvation Army corps.<\/p>\n

The Salvos are now planning to consolidate their presence on the corner of Markwell and Kingaroy streets, where the church’s Family Store is located.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Captain Tim Brown said\u00a0church services would be held at the Killick building at least until Christmas.<\/p>\n

After that, the Salvos aim to shift in to the former Ellis Engineering workshop next door to the Family Store.<\/p>\n
