Queensland will be grappling with the high risk of bushfires for the rest of this week, the QFES warned on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n

QFES Commissioner Greg Leach said areas from the NSW border to Queensland\u2019s far north would be at a very high fire danger from today until Friday.<\/p>\n

\u201cA run of hot and dry conditions is exacerbating the bushfire risk to Queensland, and this is likely to continue until the State receives sufficient rain,\u201d Mr Leach said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile the weather is outside of our control, QFES does have the resources it needs to respond to emergencies when called upon.”<\/p>\n

Mr Leach urged people to report fires immediately to Triple Zero (000).<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cFires that start under these conditions will be fast-moving and difficult to control,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Commissioner Leach said more than 40 aircraft have been deployed at 100 different bushfires so far this season.<\/p>\n

More than four million litres have been dropped on fires, including the 10,000 litre loads by the Large Air Tanker (LAT) which has been working on the Fraser Island fire.<\/p>\n
