The approaches to Yarraman … local residents and visitors are being invited to capture iconic scenery for a TRC photographic competition<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

November 30, 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n

Toowoomba Regional Council is giving residents and visitors the opportunity to win a share of $500 in prizes by entering the “Love Your Local Landscapes” photography competition.<\/p>\n

Photographs entered need to be recent and must feature natural, rural, urban or heritage landscapes within the Toowoomba Region area.<\/p>\n

Cr Megan O\u2019Hara Sullivan said the photography competition was part of Council\u2019s “Love Your Local Landscapes” project which aimed to identify views and vistas that were important to the community.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe photo competition is a fun and easy way to identify the places we love and understand what makes them special,\u201d Cr O\u2019Hara Sullivan said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese places and spaces create a region where we want to work, live, play and stay.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want the community to help us identify landscapes that are important, so we can work together to protect or preserve them so they can be enjoyed for years to come.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cr O\u2019Hara Sullivan said the competition was open to people of all photographic experience and that individuals can enter as many photos as they like.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur region features diverse places that are loved by the community, from rich natural landscapes to iconic streets and heritage buildings,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cCouncil is calling for people to upload photos of their favourite places and tell us why they love that local landscape.<\/p>\n

\u201cEach photo will be judged on artistic merit as well as how well the image celebrates the character and identity of our region.\u201d<\/p>\n
