Cherbourg Brothers United has taken out the $3000 Plate Final with an emphatic win at the annual CQID Reconciliation rugby league carnival played in Rockhampton this weekend.<\/p>\n

The Cherbourg team defeated Gladstone Goories 36-18 this afternoon at CQ University.<\/p>\n

Sixteen men’s teams competed in the carnival which had been re-scheduled to Easter after an Australia Day weekend washout.<\/p>\n

Cherbourg started their path with a dominant 46-0 victory over Dja Dja Belbindi in Round 1 yesterday.<\/p>\n

In Round 2, they were narrowly defeated 16-12 by Curacao Crusaders (Palm Island) after Cherbourg Brothers were leading 12-10 at half-time.<\/p>\n

To earn a place in the Plate Final, they defeated Nebo Murries 36-10 and Woorabinda Warriors 32-14 in the Plate semi-final.<\/p>\n
