November 25, 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n

Work to build a new footpath in Bell Street, Kumbia, began this week.<\/p>\n

A South Burnett Regional Council spokesperson said the works were scheduled to be completed in about three weeks.<\/p>\n

The project, which has been funded through the Drought Communities Programme and Council\u2019s 2020-21 capital works upgrade program, will include the removal of trees and the demolition\u00a0 of the old concrete footpath.<\/p>\n

It will provide pedestrian access from Francis Street to the existing footpath in front of Kumbia State School.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Council has hired local contractors to begin repainting the exterior of the Kingaroy Heritage Museum.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The project, funded through the State Government\u2019s Works For Queensland (W4Q) program, began on Monday and should be completed by Friday.<\/p>\n

The museum will remain open while the repainting occurs.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Local contractors are replacing the roof at the South Burnett PCYC in Murgon.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The upgrade, another W4Q project, began earlier this month and should be completed by the end of this week.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Work will begin soon on renovations to the children’s wading pool at the Kingaroy swimming pool.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Council has hired local contractors to repair and repaint the facility, another W4Q project.<\/p>\n

The project is scheduled to begin on December 1 and should be finished by December 18.<\/p>\n

The WJ Lang Memorial Olympic Pool will remain open to the public, however the children\u2019s wading pool will be closed during the renovations.<\/p>\n
