Wooroolin Warriors picked up two bonus points when they defeated Gympie Colts by six wickets at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Colts won the toss in the Gympie A Grade competition game and batted first, but were all out for 96 after just 21 overs.<\/p>\n

Kieran Askin took four of the Gympie wickets, finishing with 4\/23 off seven overs while Taylor Herrmann took 2\/7 off four, including two maidens.<\/p>\n

In reply, the Warriors lost two early wickets until Fletcher Brown came in at number four and steadied the ship, top scoring with 41.<\/p>\n

The Warriors overhauled the Colts’ target in the 18th over.<\/p>\n

Jason Koy hit 19 runs off 19 balls in his innings for Wooroolin<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

In the other A Grade game, played in Gympie, Murgon Crusaders (7\/171) defeated Gympie Harlequins (all out 167).<\/strong><\/p>\n

Zac Dann top scored for Murgon with 53 not out, just ahead of Dwayne Malone’s 49.<\/p>\n

Harrison Sippel finished with the best bowling figures for Murgon, taking 2\/22 off his eight overs, including two maidens, despite conceding six extras.<\/p>\n

Murgon’s Ashley Sippel was named Batter of the Carnival after Wide Bay defeated Gold Coast and Darling Downs\/SW Queensland to win the prestigious Schaeffer Shield at the weekend.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is the first time in 11 years that Wide Bay has been crowned South Queensland champions.<\/p>\n

The Shield games were played in Toowoomba.<\/p>\n

In the first, played on Saturday against the Gold Coast, Sippel was 72 not out, saving the match for Wide Bay when he came in at number seven.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, Sippel hit a handy 33 runs against\u00a0Darling Downs\/SW Queensland and also took two wickets.<\/p>\n

Despite an earlier T20 loss in the competition, Wide Bay finished on top of the table, ahead of South-East Queensland,\u00a0 Darling Downs\/SW Queensland and the Gold Coast.<\/p>\n

South Burnett Senior Competition<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

  • Nanango Scorpions (8\/251)\u00a0 def. Kumbia Rattlers (4\/249) by two wickets at Nanango Sportsground.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Kumbia won the toss and batted first.<\/p>\n

    Daniel Trace (74 not out) and Keegan Wright (52 not out off 51 balls faced) top scored for the Rattlers.<\/p>\n

    Dylan Gilliland was the best of the\u00a0 Nanango bowlers, taking 2\/39 off his eight overs.<\/p>\n

    In reply, Nanango’s openers had a strong start.<\/p>\n

    Brock Matthews top-scored with 84 but six other batsmen got into double figures.<\/p>\n

    Keegan Wright (2\/42 off six overs) and Louis Fairbairn (2\/34 off eight – including one maiden) had the best bowling figures for Kumbia.<\/p>\n

    • Murgon Diggers (5\/255) def. Wondai Wolves (all out 119) by 136 runs at Murgon Sportsground.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Murgon won the toss and batted first. Openers Ashley Louis (68) and Joe Meikle (67) set a cracking pace, positioning the home team for victory.<\/p>\n

      Jeremy Hobbs (2\/31 off eight overs, including one maiden) was the best of the Wondai bowlers.<\/p>\n

      In reply,\u00a0Brandon Santleben top scored for the Wolves with 24.<\/p>\n

      Nathan Roderick finished with the best figures for Murgon, 3\/27 including a maiden over.<\/p>\n

      • Kingaroy Services (all out 216) def. Cherbourg (all out 189) by 27 runs at Murgon State High School.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Cherbourg won the toss and sent Kingaroy in.<\/p>\n

        Ken Bedow (40) and Sam Scott (37) top scored for Services.<\/p>\n

        Luke Peters did the damage for Kingaroy in the Cherbourg innings, taking 5\/52 off his eight overs.<\/p>\n

        South Burnett Junior Competition<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

        • Stage 2 –\u00a0Kingaroy Northern AgriServices def. Nanango Scorpions by 66 runs at Nanango Sportsground.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Kingaroy finished with 189 for the loss of three wickets.\u00a0Top scorers were Hayden Donohue (27 not out),\u00a0Jackson Kerkow (29) and\u00a0Connor Curtain (26).<\/p>\n

          Nanango’s Charlie Steinhardt took 2\/30.<\/p>\n

          In reply, Nanango were 6\/123.\u00a0Top scorers for Nanango were\u00a0Angus Elford (24),\u00a0Emma Cullen (14 not out),\u00a0Isabella Marshall (13).<\/p>\n

          Kingaroy’s Zac Reardon took 1\/20 and Hayden\u00a0Donohue 1\/8.<\/p>\n

            Murgon batted first and ended with 8\/171. Top scorers were Jake Sippel (67)\u00a0 and Charlie Sippel (24 not out)<\/p>\n

            Best of the Nanango bowlers were Oscar Dioth (2\/16) and\u00a0Lachlan Cullen (2\/34).<\/p>\n

            In reply, Scorpions were 7\/117. Top scorers were Lachlan Cullen (34 not out) and Rory O’Connor (17 not out).<\/p>\n

            For Murgon, Tyler Fuller took 3\/9 and\u00a0Will Webber 2\/10<\/p>\n
