There’s a bunch of talented South Burnett artists who aren’t afraid to do a bit of “showing off” when it comes to their creative skills.<\/p>\n

Jumping Ant Arts has 21 members, doing everything from digital art to rug-making as well as all the traditional fine arts.<\/p>\n

Fifteen members from the group have taken over the main gallery space and the back gallery at the Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery this month to display some of their latest works.<\/p>\n

The group hosted an open day at the Gallery on Saturday with a full range of pieces on display – painting, pottery, textile art, digital creations and hook rugs.<\/p>\n

About 50 visitors dropped in during the morning, taking the opportunity to watch some of the artists in action.<\/strong><\/p>\n

There was a demonstration of “takuzuri” – a Japanese print-making art which involves rubbing wooden blocks – as well as weaving, iPad art and painting with pastels.<\/p>\n

The Jumping Ants Arts exhibition, entitled “Showing Off”, will be on display Mondays to Fridays at the Kingaroy Art Gallery until the end of November.<\/p>\n

Entry is free.<\/p>\n
