The Burnett Inland Economic Development Organisation (BIEDO) has entered into new partnerships with its two member organisations: the South Burnett and North Burnett regional councils.<\/p>\n

The new partnerships mean an injection of funds into BIEDO until June 30 next year to allow the economic development body to run new and extended programs.<\/p>\n

In the South Burnett, these will include more support for both town-based and farm-based businesses, more involvement with local Chambers of Commerce and business development groups, and delivering components of Council’s\u00a0Drought Communities Program\u00a0\u2013 Extension funding, announced by the Federal Government earlier this year.<\/p>\n

BIEDO CEO Kristy Frahm welcomed the opportunity to grow BIEDO\u2019s collaboration with Council.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cAs a not-for-profit economic development organisation serving Burnett Inland communities, we would like to thank South Burnett Regional Council for investing in BIEDO\u2019s work through this new partnership agreement,\u201d Ms Frahm said.<\/p>\n

She described it as a “fee-for-service” arrangement.<\/p>\n

In partnership with Council, BIEDO has appointed Drought Resilience Officer Alan Broome to work “on the ground” across the region over the next eight months, engaging directly with primary producers, community groups and local service providers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
