November 16, 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n

Residents in the Knight Street area of Kingaroy lost power on Monday afternoon a car slammed into a power pole near the intersection with Walter Road.<\/p>\n

Ergon isolated power from a number of poles while emergency repairs were made.<\/p>\n

About 19 customers lost power about 4:30pm while Ergon crews worked to replace the damaged pole.<\/p>\n

The repairs were expected to take about two hours.<\/p>\n

Police and emergency services attended the crash but a police spokesperson said no one was injured.<\/p>\n

The badly damaged Ford Falcon sedan was hauled away on the back of a tow truck.<\/p>\n

The 24-year-old Kingaroy driver allegedly told police he had just turned from Somerset Street when the steering pulled sharply, causing the vehicle to mount the gutter and hit the pole.<\/p>\n

Investigations are continuing.<\/p>\n
