Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk<\/figcaption><\/figure>November 11, 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk unveiled her new Cabinet on Wednesday – a mix of old and new faces.<\/p>\n

The Premier said the ministry reflected the importance of powering Queensland\u2019s economic recovery and the continued health response.<\/p>\n

It also establishes a Minister for Hydrogen, recognising the importance of this valuable new energy source, and a Minister for Water.<\/p>\n

The three new members of Cabinet are Member for Townsville Scott Stewart, Member for Nudgee Leanne Linard and Member for Gaven Meaghan Scanlon.<\/p>\n

They replace three Ministers who retired at the State election.<\/p>\n

There has also been a reshuffle of portfolios.<\/p>\n

Deputy Premier Steven Miles has relinquished Health to become Minister for State Development, Local Government, Infrastructure and Planning.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Treasurer Cameron Dick adds Investment to his portfolio.<\/p>\n

Yvette D\u2019Ath will become the Minister for Health and Ambulance Services.<\/p>\n

Shannon Fentiman has been appointed Attorney-General.<\/p>\n

The Premier said she expected her Ministers to focus squarely on Queensland\u2019s economic recovery and providing the services all Queenslanders – including seniors and those in regional Queensland – need.<\/p>\n

\u201cQueenslanders expect us to get on with implementing our Economic Recovery Plan,\u201d the Premier said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey expect the roads, schools and hospitals we need and the jobs that go with building them.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is our job to get on with the job and that\u2019s exactly what we will do.\u201d<\/p>\n

Parliament will resume in the final week of November followed by budget sittings in December.<\/p>\n

Budget Estimates hearings will be conducted prior to Christmas<\/p>\n
