November 4, 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Kumbia Race Club will be holding its annual Melbourne Cup race meeting this Tuesday, November 3.<\/p>\n

It will be a five-race meeting with the first race scheduled to leave the barriers at at 1:00pm.<\/p>\n

The feature race, the Huston Motors Kumbia Cup Open Handicap (1400m), will be run at 3:45pm.<\/p>\n

This year – due to the pandemic – guests will be asked to book tickets online<\/strong><\/a> in advance to help collect contact tracing data.<\/p>\n

As part of Pink Up South Burnett, the meeting will have a pink theme to raise awareness about breast cancer and help raise funds for the McGrath Foundation’s breast care nurses.<\/p>\n

As well as a big Fashions of the Field competition, there’ll also be full TV coverage of the races from Flemington, including the Melbourne Cup.<\/p>\n

On-course bookies will be taking bets on both the local and interstate races.<\/p>\n

A bus will be running from Kingaroy’s Carrollee Hotel to help punters enjoy the day without the hassle of driving, but bookings need to be made at the hotel.<\/p>\n
