October 16, 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n

Wondai Race Club will be holding its annual Caulfield Cup race meeting – usually one of its biggest meetings of the year – at the Wondai Racecourse in Baynes Street on Saturday (October 17).<\/p>\n

It will be a five-race meeting – including the Wondai Cup – and the first race will leave the barriers at 12:55pm.<\/p>\n

Due to COVID restrictions, however, the meeting will be patron-free.<\/p>\n

This means no spectators and entry will be restricted to essential racing industry personnel only.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The usual features of the meeting – such as an on-course TAB, live telecasts of interstate races, an undercover betting ring, barbecue and bar, the Lady Luck Cocktail Bar and the Fashions On The Field competition – will be absent.<\/p>\n

The South Burnett Race Club said it took the decision to run a patron-free meeting reluctantly and hopes to return to normal meetings in 2021, kicking off with its popular Anzac Day race meeting on April 25.<\/p>\n

Saturday’s meeting is being sponsored by Samios Plumbing Supplies, G. Crumpton and Sons, the Ryan family, Murgon Tyres and More and Murgon Outdoor Equipment.<\/p>\n
