A book was launched this week to celebrate the contribution of the AgriFutures Rural Women\u2019s Award through the lens of the women who have been a part of its 21-year history.<\/p>\n

The book was unveiled on Thursday, the\u00a0International Day of Rural Women.<\/p>\n

National and State winners from 2000 to the present are featured.<\/p>\n

South Burnett alumni in the book include Smithfield’s Barb Madden, who was National runner-up and Queensland State winner in 2009.<\/p>\n

The theme celebrates the past 21 years with the same question posed to all the participants: \u201cWhat advice would you give your 21-year-old self?\u201d<\/p>\n

The AgriFutures Rural Women\u2019s Award is presented by AgriFutures Australia (the former Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation).<\/strong><\/p>\n

It acknowledges the essential role women play in rural industries, businesses, and communities, particularly for those people living in regional and rural communities.<\/p>\n

Former SBRC economic development officer Sharyn Garrett was a Queensland winner of the award in 2010.<\/p>\n
