Opposition Leader and Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington has promised a $300 rebate to all Queenslanders who own a registered car – if the LNP wins the October 31 election.<\/p>\n

Mrs Frecklington said the COVID rebate would inject $1.15 billion stimulus into the Queensland economy.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a stimulus payment to give Queensland\u2019s economy a Christmas kickstart,\u201d Mrs Frecklington said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe LNP\u2019s $300 rego rebate will give Queenslanders more cash to spend this Christmas, delivering a $1.15 billion boost for struggling shops, cafes and other small businesses.<\/p>\n

\u201cLabor has smashed drivers with a massive $120 rego hike but the LNP will give $300 back to drivers.”<\/p>\n

Mrs Frecklington said about 3.87 million cars would be covered by the rego rebate.<\/p>\n

Cars registered on November 1, 2020, would be eligible unless they were owned by a car dealer or a hire car company.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cars registered for commercial purposes by small business owners and tradies would also eligible.<\/p>\n

Owners of multiple registered cars would receive $300 for each car.<\/p>\n

Mrs Frecklington said the rebate would be paid into back accounts in December via the Federal Government\u2019s Services Australia online portal.<\/p>\n

The same payment system has been used by the ACT and Victorian governments to distribute COVID stimulus payments.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
