Boondooma Homestead is famous for its annual Spirit Of The Bush Music Muster … and while it couldn’t be held this year, an upcoming Open Day will help fans enjoy some of the fun they have been missing in 2020<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

October 6, 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n

The COVID-19 pandemic may have prevented this year’s Bush Balladeer Muster and Scots In The Bush festivals from going ahead … but Boondooma Homestead is coming back to life with something new instead.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, October 17, the Homestead will be holding a rare Open Day for all the family,<\/p>\n

The Open Day will feature everything from tours of the historic homestead property through to market stalls, along with open mic entertainment all day.<\/p>\n

The Homestead’s canteen will also be serving up morning teas and light lunches for guests, and visitors who would like to stay over can hire an unpowered campsite for as little as $5 per person.<\/p>\n

One unique feature of the Open Day will be a fashion parade featuring costumes for all the decades between 1850 (when Boondooma Homestead was founded) through to 1950.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The fashion parade is open to anyone who would like to take part. Participants only need to register by 10:00am on the day and identify the decade they’re representing.<\/p>\n

The parade will feature both men’s and women’s costumes, and children are welcome to take part as well.<\/p>\n

Judges will choose the most appropriate costumes for each decade, and there’ll be prizes for the winners.<\/p>\n

Entry to the Open Day is free, and both market stallholders and entertainers who would like to take part in the Open Mic sessions are very welcome.<\/p>\n

COVID Safe restrictions will apply to the event, which means all visitors will need to register on entry and observe social distancing.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Boondooma Homestead is located on the Mundubbera-Durong Road about 22km north of Durong.<\/p>\n
