Toowoomba Regional Council will receive a total of $275,000 through the jointly funded State-Federal Government\u00a0Queensland Resilience and Risk Reduction Fund (QRRRF).<\/p>\n

The Council will receive $150,000 towards flood early warning systems and flood resilience programs, and $125,000 to hire a resilience and recovery officer.<\/p>\n

The funding is part of an almost $9.6 million investment in 49 projects to improve local disaster resilience and risk reduction across the State.<\/p>\n

QRRRF is jointly funded by the State Government ($8.3 million) and the Federal Government ($4.8 million) and is administered by the Queensland Reconstruction Authority.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, Cherbourg Council received\u00a0$31,352 in resilience funding from the QRRRF to\u00a0provide an emergency power supply for the Cherbourg Council Chambers which serves as the town\u2019s Disaster Control Centre.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
