Queensland border restrictions eased on Thursday, allowing all Queensland residents to travel to the defined NSW border zone and return into Queensland.<\/p>\n

From 1:00am on October 1, the defined NSW border zone has been\u00a0extended however the remainder of NSW and all of Victoria remain declared COVID-19 hotspots.<\/p>\n

These are closed to people travelling via road unless an exception applies, or the individual has been granted an exemption by the Chief Health Officer.<\/p>\n

Queensland residents who intend to travel within the NSW border zone and re-enter Queensland must apply for an updated “X” pass, also known as a “Border Zone Resident Declaration Pass”.<\/p>\n

The eased border restrictions also allow NSW\u00a0border zone residents\u00a0– who have not travelled to a declared COVID-19 hotspot in the past 14 days – to travel anywhere in Queensland for any purpose.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Providing false information on the declaration, or entering Queensland unlawfully, could result in a $4003 fine or a notice to appear in court.<\/p>\n
