{"id":278866,"date":"2020-09-29T16:59:01","date_gmt":"2020-09-29T06:59:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/?p=278866"},"modified":"2020-09-29T16:59:01","modified_gmt":"2020-09-29T06:59:01","slug":"drought-grants-program-opens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/2020\/09\/29\/drought-grants-program-opens\/","title":{"rendered":"Drought Grants Program Opens"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_226673\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-226673\" style=\"width: 200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/littleproud2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-226673\" src=\"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/littleproud2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"310\" srcset=\"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/littleproud2.jpg 200w, https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/littleproud2-194x300.jpg 194w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-226673\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Agriculture Minister and Member for Maranoa David Littleproud<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>September 29, 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Federal Government grants of up to $200,000 are available for organisations, farmer groups and individuals with ideas about how to build drought resilience.<\/p>\n<p>Agriculture Minister David Littleproud said applications were now open for the $10 million grants component of the Natural Resource Management Drought Resilience Program.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGrants of between $20,000 and $200,000 are available for delivery of a range of on-ground activities that build drought resilience,\u201d Minister Littleproud said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThrough the adoption of new technology and innovative practices, this program will deliver a range of on-ground outcomes achieving benefits that meet farmers\u2019 priorities and contribute to landscape-scale drought resilience in agriculture-dependent communities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor example, innovative projects that regenerate and maintain groundcover can deliver drought resilience by improving the soil\u2019s water infiltration and storage capacity, reducing<br \/>\nrun-off and associated water and wind erosion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Natural Resource Management Drought Resilience Program forms part of the first round of investments the Australian Government is making through the $5 billion <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.agriculture.gov.au\/ag-farm-food\/drought\/future-drought-fund\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Future Drought Fund<\/a><\/strong> to help farmers better prepare for dry times.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese projects will continue to deliver lasting benefits, even during the good years, by helping to lift the productivity and profitability of the agriculture sector and enhance the health and sustainability of our farming landscapes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Applications close on October 30.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>More information is available on the Community Grants Hub\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegrantshub.com.au\/grants-directory\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">website<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Federal Government grants of up to $200,000 are available for organisations, farmer groups and individuals with ideas about how to build drought resilience.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":20,"featured_media":276803,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[3,36],"tags":[1134],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v19.11 -
